Net Medical Telehealth Platform and Butterfly Network Mobile Ultrasound Partner

Net Medical. in conjunction with Butterfly Network today announced an industry

exclusive COVID-19 resource bundle to combat the realities of the pandemic. The

one-stop-shop for coronavirus diagnosis and care bubbled up from the need healthcare

organizations face due to disparate, inefficient, incomplete solutions that many providers cannot navigate or pay for.

“The pandemic has accelerated so many long overdue changes within the healthcare system, from addressing waste to value-based care and disconnected systems to staffing burdens,” said Dick Govatski, CEO, Net Medical. “Healthcare needs to be malleable to combat the impacts of coronavirus, but also to better meet the needs of today’s healthcare consumer and provider at the point of care. This is a new frontier, and employers, municipalities, rural healthcare systems, skilled nursing facilities and even primary care offices need COVID-19 resourcing simplified into a quick, easy to execute, accurate offering. Our COVID-19 Resource Bundle is a one-stop-shop for all of these audiences to deliver diagnoses and complete care.”

Antigen Tests + Result Reading

Net Medical provides access to a variety of FDA authorized rapid tests. Their Telemed platform manages deployment of all current CLIA waived tests including all data capture and reporting requirements. In addition to testing for your staff and patients, Net Medical suggests that you deploy the Butterfly iQ and use the COVID-19 preset to instantly determine lung conditions. Net Medical’s Butterfly’s interface transmits results to our staff of radiologists for interpretation. Net Medical also provides malpractice insurance for facilities through our digital telemedicine policy with Lloyd’s of London insurance.

Butterfly Network

Butterfly iQ’s uniquely small size and portability enables healthcare practitioners to safely clean the device and move between patients quickly, which is not possible with other common imaging technologies such as large ultrasound machines or other scanning machines. “Point-of-care ultrasound has played an important role in helping health systems respond to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world. We have seen it used to assess initial lung and cardiac involvement, as well as to monitor disease progression for patients isolated in urgent care facilities, family practice and for those quarantined in the home,” said Dr. John Martin, Butterfly’s chief medical officer. “The value of the Butterfly iQ extends well beyond this particular pandemic. Its ability to streamline workflow and provide clinicians important tools they need to help patients, right at their fingertips, is changing the future of medical imaging forever.”

State + Federal Reporting

There are several important data elements for reporting results on a daily basis to HHS and CDC. In addition to aggregate reporting requirements, HHS and CDC require data collection for symptoms, living settings, and other Ask On Order Entry data fields. Reporting these data fields is a requirement under the CARES act for continued Medicare and Medicaid funding for long term care facilities. Net Medical’s Telemed system has been customized to provide complete reporting from tests.

Expert Telespecialists + Continued Care

With many new entrants into the $20 billion telehealth market, Net Medical focuses on the quality, privacy, security and ease-of-use its robust platform provides. U.S federal and state restrictions have loosened as of late to better provide healthcare accessibility, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, those changes have largely been to ease historically clunky state-to-state credentialing needed in the old system.

“Net Medical offers services to providers in every state and many different specialties -- from primary health to neurosurgery -- and connects those providers with patients down the street as easily as to patients across the ocean, and the focus has always been providing a medical-grade experience,” said Govatski. “This is not a video chat with friends or family. This is personal health information, a private conversation with liabilities providers know all too well. Patients need to feel the same comfort level they would feel with a provider in an actual exam room, and providers need sophisticated but straightforward solutions so they can support the best possible patient outcomes.”
